A few things to note

  • We are starting our final unit in Math.  While many students have the basic principles of adding/subtracting, they need to be much more automatic with their basic facts so this will be a focus for us in the next month.  Please email me for game suggestions if you need to.
  • We are starting a mapping unit.  Please have your child write their street name in their agenda.

Such a lucky teacher

Hi all,

I had to be away from the classroom yesterday afternoon for an appointment.  When I came back this morning, this was the note left by my substitute:

Ms. Perkins,

You work with an amazing group of kids.  It was a pleasure to sub for you and I am leaving with a smile on my face.  Your students were extremely friendly, nice, and helpful.  Everything went great!  I’d love to come back if you are ever away again.”

As a teacher, coming back to a note like this just made me so proud.  I am so fortunate to have such a great group of students and I just wanted to pass this message along.  Happy Wednesday!

Did somebody say May?

So, I’m not too sure how this happened but my calendar said May 1st this week–did that happen to anybody else?

This time of year, we start to work on being “Grade 2 ready” with our learning and behaviour.  If you have any questions or concerns, it is best to contact me sooner rather than later as I am always willing to meet with you and discuss your child’s progress.

And May the Fourth be with you!!
