Monday Announcements!

Welcome back!  I hope you all had a lovely and restful break.  Looking forward to digging right back into our learning.

  • Weekly sight words: ran, but, pretty, so, what
  • Weekly Word Family: Just a heads up–this is a repeat but this week we are going to review before moving on.
  • If you haven’t logged in to pay for your field trip, please do that this week.  The field trip is next week.
  • Parent volunteers for field trip:  I will need between 3-5 parent volunteers to meet us at the museum and lead a small group of students through the exhibits.  The trip is March 7 in the morning.  If you are able to meet us there, please send me an email.

Pink Shirt Day!

Don’t forget your pink shirt tomorrow.  We’ve had some pretty powerful conversations in our classroom this week about love, inclusion, acceptance, bullying, and that girls and boys should be able to wear/play/work wherever they want.  The students have some pretty powerful things to say about the importance of standing up for people who may look or talk a  little different.  I encourage you to keep these conversations going at home!

Monday Announcements–100 Day Edition!

Let’s give a cheer

100th day is here!

We’ve learned a lot along the way!

Time to celebrate our 100th day!

Hip hip hooray!

Can you believe we have been here for 100 days?  We have all learned so much and I am so proud of each and everyone of my students!  We have a ton of stuff on the go this week and as I’m sure you can imagine, the classroom is buzzing with excitement.  We will not be doing sight words or word families this week–we will resume after the February break.

Another Expert!

We had Dr. Dehghani come to our class in the last hour today and teach us all about the heart.  He is a cardiac surgeon!  We listened to a heartbeat, learned about the MANY MANY things that a heart does in order to keep us strong and healthy, and he even had a real heart that we were able to look at.  Thanks Dr. Dehghani for coming in and teaching us today!
